Elite caliber NY IP boutique law firm seeking an associate for their trademark prosecution and design patent practice group:

Key Responsibilities:
The firm’s U.S. trademark prosecution and design patent group primarily handles trademark and design patent counseling and trademark clearance, prosecution, and maintenance matters for a wide range of many of the most iconic brands in the world.

What the Firm Seeks:
2020-2023 graduate from top-tier law school, with excellent grades
Background/experience with trademark and patent matters at a top firm
Demonstrated passion/interest in trademark and design patent law and a strong understanding of patent law generally.
Excellent reasoning, research, writing, oral, and interpersonal skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work as a member of a team
Member in good standing of New York bar, and either registered as a patent attorney with the USPTO or at least meets the eligibility requirements to take the USPTO Patent Bar exam.
Specific design patent experience a plus

An ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience working in a dynamic and well-rounded trademark/design patent practice, including experience dealing with issues related to management of U.S. trademark portfolios, counseling client’s on U.S. trademark and design patent issues, handling U.S. trademark and design patent clearance, prosecution, and foreign design maintenance matters, drafting relevant agreements including licenses and coexistence agreements, and working on due diligence projects concerning IP aspects of major corporate transactions.
